2.2 KiB
Insight transmission
... needs:
- left shaft
- center shaft (behind engine)
- right shaft (from center shaft to hub)
The center and right may be able to be combined on the G1 Insight, since the right hand diff output is CLOSER to the wheel hub in the ZE1 than usual, and certainly closer than on the G3 Insight.
e.g. RockAuto
- 27 splines inboard female
- 28 splines outboard male
Left shaft
- 29 splines inboard male
- 28 splines outboard male
Right shaft
Probably use a ?(inner teeth) x ?(barrel diameter) x 29 inner CV joint, like https://www.ebay.com/itm/196044120682

No measurements, but GREAT visuals for how the outer joint works -- like a stake into a spider of sorts.

Scott's inner joint rebuild thread: https://www.insightcentral.net/threads/inner-axle-joint.131085/
Demonstrates that only the inner joint lacks a circlip.
